The educators at Frog Puddles childcare centre believe that assessment and evaluation of children ' s development, the environment, adult-child interactions and current centre practices form the basis to planning appropriate experiences for young children.
Our planning will cover all areas of development (including the individual needs and interests of the children), and be inclusive of the early childhood curriculum Te Whaariki.

The Tadpole programme is for the 3 year old children.
This a very basic structured introduction to areas such as:
- letters
- numbers
- shapes
- colours
This then leads onto the Leap Frog Programme when they turn 4 or when the individual child is ready. |

Our Leap Frog programme is for the 4 year old children and is done daily with one teacher and a small group of children.
This includes, amongst other activites, the following:
- phonics
- days of the week
- numbers
- holding a pencil correctly
- colouring
- left to right eye movement
- listening skills
- colours
- writing name
- ruling lines
- shapes
- alphabet

Portfolio:
All children attending Frog Puddles will have their own personal portfolio. Teachers will record observations of your child, which will then be recorded in their portfolio, alongside artwork, and photo ' s. This will be given to your child to keep when they leave Froggies and are available for you to view at all times.
